Carena Work

Certificate IV Veterinary Nurse

Carena joined us in mid 2017 and rapidly established herself as an integral member of our reception team. She came to us with many years of veterinary nursing and reception experience and made an immediate impact with her knowledge, her quiet confidence and her wonderful manner with clients, pets and team-members alike. As well as having a real client service focus, Carena has an intimate knowledge of pet conditions and needs and is able to very effectively triage our patients. She has an unflappable nature and has already made many friends amongst our clients.

Outside of work, Carena and husband Dave are kept busy by their lively dog Rocket . He was previously a camp dog – essentially scavenging whatever scraps he could find to stay alive. Although Carena and Dave have rescued many camp dogs in the past, Rocket managed to work their way into the family home and never left!

Carena is also one of our creative types and spends a lot of her spare time making dream-catchers and polymer clay necklaces for sale at the local craft markets, on Instagram and on Etsy (how the world of commerce has changed over recent times!). She also loves family time and goes by the title of ‘Favourite Auntie’ to all her nieces and nephews. Excitedly Carena and Dave are expecting their own bundle of joy, due in March! We all so very excited for her!

In the work environment, she has really enjoyed being part of such a close-knit team and likes nothing better than meeting clients and hearing stories about their pets. If you haven’t already met or spoken to Carena, look out for her next time you come in and say hello – she loves the client contact and will make you feel very welcome!

In 2021 Carena and Dave welcomed there beautiful daughter, Gracie into the mix and we are looking forward to welcoming her back to the clinic when she is ready!
