Cornell graduated from the University of Pretoria in 2006 and a desire to travel brought him to Adelaide. He has also worked in the UK, but the draw of sunny weather and the good natured people of South Australia, means that he now happily calls Gawler home.
Cornell enjoys interacting with clients and their furry companions of all shapes and sizes. He views himself very much as a general practitioner and is comfortable with the more unusual challenges of veterinary practice. Although one shouldn’t have favourites, he does admit to having a soft spot for cats, even the grumpier ones!
Even though Cornell and fiancée Alana have settled in South Australia, travelling remains a keen interest. Outside of veterinary work he enjoys nothing more than seeing and learning about new places. He is a keen runner and it should come as no surprise to see him hitting the pavements, especially now that he and Alana have recently purchased an old stone cottage locally and so consider themselves fully fledged Gawler residents!
Cornell looks forward to developing our feline service and was instrumental in driving our registration as a ‘Cat Friendly Accredited Practice’. Not content with spending a large amount of his working day treating cats, he and Alana are gradually developing their home feline pack with Clementine and Klaus (the Lionheart) now roaming the property.
