Certificate IV Veterinary Nurse, Veterinary Nurse Technician
Sam is our quiet achiever and a very popular member of staff. She has been working at Gawler Animal Hospital since 2008 and is a fully qualified veterinary nurse. She has also completed her Veterinary Technician qualification and has a real talent in veterinary anaesthesia (amongst other things). She acts as our ‘go-to’ person for all native fauna and has raised several possums (possi?), birds, lizards, etc. Sam is also an integral member of our dental team and loves working in this area.
Reflecting her country background (she’s a Stockport girl), her passions go beyond the normal as she has a 10-foot pet carpet python (with attitude!), a galah named Henry and an Australian magpie named Kevin! On the more conventional side, Sam has a little Maltese cross girl called Dookie (who is great friends with Kevin the magpie!) and Willow, a Staffy Cross. Although not so easy these days with little ones to attend to, she also loves to go to the beach or up the river to spend time with her friends.
Sam was married to husband Paul in 2016 and had a brief absence for the arrival of Harrison, in early 2018. Sam has back on maternity leave again since the arrival of little Oliver earlier this year. Although we miss her while she’s away, we’re happy to know that she’ll be back as soon as possible!
