Bri joined us as a part-time veterinary nurse whilst completing her veterinary studies at the University of Adelaide. She expects to graduate in 2021 and now lives locally. Originally a West Australian, Bri grew up on the farm and is well versed with the ways of cattle, sheep and horses. Indeed, her interests in all things equine saw her moving into competitive three-day eventing and show-jumping.
Ever since helping her parents to successfully splint a fractured leg on a calf, Bri knew that veterinary medicine was the career for her and so she came through to SA to study at Adelaide University (Roseworthy). Since starting at Roseworthy, she branched out from farm work and has done some work caring for and rehabilitating greyhounds. As a result, Bri has also switched focus from horses to companion animals and sees her involvement at GAH as helping her develop some of the skills essential to being a great small animal vet. For our part, we’re delighted to have Bri with us and view this as being a significant switch in the right direction for her!
Outside of study and work, she’s another keen sportsperson, having represented the Uni of Adelaide at netball, amongst other things. Nowadays her involvement in sport is more on a social basis but she also thoroughly enjoys the beach and outdoors. Living and studying in the Barossa has also exp0sed her to the benefits of the local wine industry!
Other than having an active social life to help her deal with the stresses of a very challenging uni degree course, Bri is kept in line by her little Pomeranian dog, Kevin, who’s come over from WA to keep her company!
