Dr David Davies BSc BVMS (Hons) FANZCVS
David started with us late July in a specialist consulting role and we couldn’t be more excited to have him as an addition to our team (Even if it is only Fridays).
David was born in Wales but raised in Adelaide and undertook his undergraduate training at Murdoch University (Perth), he then spent the next 7 years working in a small animal practice in Adelaide and the UK. He then decided he was ready to further his studies and returned to Murdoch University for a further 3 years to undertake a supervised specialist training as Resident in Small Animal Medicine.
From here he decided it was time to move back to the South and obtained fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Canine medicine in 2004, allowing registration as the only Canine Medicine specialist in South Australia (Pretty impressive stuff!)
With over 15 yeas of specialist practice providing expertise and care to pets , their owners and their referring veterinarians from across South Australia, we are very excited to have him part of our team. He is passionate about providing pets and their owners with high quality, evidence based compassionate care. David is an advocate for continued learning, gaining new knowledge and loves passing on his own learning to his colleagues. (Something we are absolutely loving and making the most of!)
David is skilled in Endoscopy and Ultrasound and is published nationally and internationally in diverse fields including oncology, neurology, gastroenterology, infectious disease and endocrinology.
When he’s not busy helping pets he enjoys spending time with his wife, Anna and his daughters Cate and Sarah and his son Wil. David has lifelong passions for rugby union, cricket, music, travel, food and bushwalking. He has three rescue cats Gus, Lola and Toby (T-Bone) and another rescue, the “mighty mouse” terrier-cross Spike.
