Veterinary Customer Care/ Marketing
Lauren joined us in December 2017 and made a huge impact from the word go. She brought with her a wealth of skills and experience. Having grown up working in the family business, she was a natural when it comes to client service. She took this ability further with a number of years at Flight Centre looking after a large team of staff as well as her own clients.
Both Lauren and her mum, Julie, had come to Gawler Animal Hospital as clients for some time before she joined us and so she had the chance to observe how we work from the other side of the consult table. When we offered her a position, she had no hesitation in accepting as she already knew our culture and was a natural fit.
At work, Lauren sees customer service as her number one focus and is a huge believer in looking after people. Although she came with no direct veterinary experience, she’s a rapid learner and, from the start, was a massively positive influence on what was already a brilliant team on the front desk.
Outside of work, Lauren is another of our staff to have caught the travel bug in a big way. As befits an ex Flight Centre employee, she has indulged this bug by travelling to multiple destinations including Europe, UK, USA, China, The Maldives, Vietnam, NZ and (her favourite) Sri Lanka)!She assures me that list is neither exhaustive nor finished, although she’ll have to overcome a recently acquired fear of flying. Future travel adventures may have to involve more road and sea, otherwise!
Lauren is a local girl, having grown up in Gawler and gone to school at Xavier College. She’s married to Kane and they have 2 dogs – Luna and Rocket. The dogs manage to keep Lauren fit with lots of walks. She’s also a bit of a confessed coffee addict – if, next time you see her, she’s looking a bit excitable, it probably means one too many coffees has been consumed already!
The latest major event in Lauren’s life has been the arrival of Spencer – a baby Swan! Much as she loves Spencer, Lauren was delighted to come back to work after a maternity leave of absence.
Lauren has recently taken on the role of Marketing for the clinic, as well as remaining an integral part of the customer care team and is absolutely loving it!
