Dr Roy Choi, DVM
Roy grew up in Hong Kong and moved to Adelaide to pursue a career in veterinary medicine, and graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2024. During his studies, Roy developed a strong passion for surgery, with a keen interest in both orthopedic and soft tissue procedures. As a veterinary student, Roy completed a placement at Gawler Animal Hospital and instantly fell in love with the clinic’s supportive team and their professionalism. This wonderful experience made it an easy decision to return as a full-time veterinary surgeon after graduation. At the clinic Roy can often be found cuddling dogs and cats or creating fun content for our social media.
Beyond the clinic, Roy enjoys staying active and participates in various sports, including golf, volleyball, jogging, and badminton plus a more sedate hobbie – video gaming.
At home, Roy and Abbie share their life with Dumbo, a lovable 4 year old Golden Retriever who brings endless joy to their lives.
