Amanda Pain – Hospital Daily Team Leader

Certificate IV Veterinary Nurse, Hospital Daily Team Leader

Amanda started with us as a nurse trainee in mid 2017 and has come to us in a slightly unusual fashion. She had initially applied to, and been accepted by, the University of Adelaide veterinary school to study veterinary medicine. She decided, however, that she really wanted to pursue a position as a veterinary nurse and so enrolled in the TAFE course at the beginning of the year. She was spotted there by one of our ‘insiders’ as an outstanding student and who we’d be well advised to bring into the fold at Gawler Animal Hospital. We offered her a part-time nurse assistant position and she impressed us enough that we offered her a nursing traineeship. Although Amanda still had the option of taking up a deferred acceptance offer in the veterinary degree program,  she elected to stay with us and so we were delighted to have her join us in a full-time capacity.

In 2022 Amanda has stepped into the newly made role of Hospital Daily Team Leader.

Amanda is a Barossa native and has a wonderful calm manner with pets and with clients . Amanda finished her nurse training in record time and has recently been awarded her Certificate IV. As such, she’s now a fully-fledged member of our veterinary nursing crew!
