MVB (Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine), University College Dublin, Dublin, Ireland.
Jenny joined the Gawler Animal Hospital team in October 2018 and brought with her a wealth of experience and passion for the veterinary industry.
From a very young age, Jenny was determined to become a vet. She spent many school holidays helping out at her local veterinary practice (which was a large proportion of farm and equine work). Jenny initially embarked on her Veterinary degree with the idea she would be an equine or large animal vet, but at some stage in her third year she caught the small animal practice bug!
Jenny graduated in 2008 from University College Dublin, Ireland. During her final year at university, the global financial crisis was unfolding and job prospects in her homeland were few and far between. Jenny started to look farther afield and found an amazing opportunity right here in South Australia and has never looked back. Jenny worked in a busy mixed practice in the Riverland for four and half years, before moving to another busy mixed practice in Mildura to follow a job opportunity for her husband Nigel (a local South Australian and Winemaker). Nigel and Jenny spent over five years in Mildura, before deciding it was time to move home to South Australia and much closer to his family, now located in Gawler.
Jenny is a firm believer that the more you know, the more you need to learn. As a result, she loves to engage in continuing education so she can provide more to her patients and clients. Jenny strives to be an excellent General Practitioner and holds particular interests in small animal surgery (soft tissue and orthopaedic), small animal medicine, dentistry and imaging.
Outside of work, Jenny loves to ‘do mum stuff’ with her three gorgeous girls. She also enjoys helping Nigel with their boutique wine brand ‘Shrieking Witch Wines’ and learning the tricks of the trade. Joey the miniature schnauzer and Bingo and Rosie the chickens complete the very noisy Nesci household. Nigel and Jenny both grew up in families with a strong connection to the land and continue to nurture this in their daughters with family activities.
We are so very Lucky to have Jen!
